The Legal department, a team of around 20 lawyers, provides corporate, commercial and compliance advice to internal customers acting as a business partner.
With a view to continuing the provision of high quality legal services to the organisation Tyco seek to appoint a Regulatory Counsel for the EMEA businesses. You will act as a business partner to internal clients as well as an ethical leader for the benefit of the corporation as a whole. You will report to the Deputy General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer EMEA and join an exceptionally successful and high profile legal team with a view to a long term career within the group. This role will require frequent international travel.
Job DescriptionAs Regulatory Counsel EMEA you will be responsible for:Providing a full range of corporate and regulatory advice and compliance and legal services to the Tyco businessesDelivering counsel in the critical areas of Data Protection, Competition, Environmental Law, Health and Safety and Governmental relationsPartnering the senior management team on all corporate and regulatory affairs and ensuring timely advise to a robust and demanding leadership teamPlaying an active role in the EMEA legal team providing support and development in all areas of Corporate and regulatory affairsAdvise on EU and local RegulationsParticipate in management meetings and results briefingsSet up a frame for legal research resources for the EMEA Legal department
Job RequirementsA lawyer qualified to practice in any of the major European jurisdictionsA minimum of eight years PQE experience and a demonstrable track record within an international business or large law firmExperienced in setting up Regulatory and Compliance frame works, preferably in an international company that's active in an industrial, technical environmentAbility to be highly responsive, reactive and comprehending of a wide variety and volume of business and legal challengesAble to work autonomously and have the energy, drive and communication skill to influence stakeholders in a challenging and demanding environmentFluent in English, any other main European language is preferable
